My professional background
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Open University London. I started working for Harrow Samaritans where I volunteered for two years. I also volunteered for Harrow Bereavement care for a year.
I then did a PGDiP in Couples and Relationship Counselling at Tavistock Relationships. and then worked there as a clinician for a period of 10 years. Here I saw clients both couples and individuals seeking help with a wide range of issues from mental health challenges to relationships problems and life stage issues. Part of my clinical role was to carry out assessments for client intakes at Tavistock Relationships. This helped me develop the skills to help clients identify their particular issues and then offer a formulation around what their work might look like.
Working with couple relationships I developed an interest in the role intimacy can play between two people. I then proceeded to do my MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy also from Tavistock Relationships.
I also have deep experience helping individuals suffering from anxiety and depression. Through extensive training acquired over the years, I also provide counselling and therapy for clients suffering from eating disorders.
I have been in private practice since 2013.
